Successfully predicting the fate of guys that most NFL fans have never heard of since 2017
I got an email this week from a Hogs Haven member who asked about the winner of this year’s roster prediction contest.
I realized when I checked, that, although I had written this article at the beginning of the month, I failed to publish it prior to the start of the season.
Let me apologize for the oversight and publish the results of the contest now.
We had an impressive and unprecedented 110 entries into the contest, with one entry standing a bit taller than the rest when the final score was tallied.
The winner
The winner of the 2024 Roster Prediction Contest is beowolf, who correctly predicted the fates of 11 of the 12 players in the contest, scoring 57 of a possible 68 points. His only “miss” was on DT Norell Pollard. Beowolf predicted that the defensive lineman would be cut, but by being placed on IR, Pollard was counted as having made the team. Three of the top-six scorers in the contest (Mike at Knotts Creek, Redskinsita, and DenverHank) correctly predicted that Pollard would make the team.
On behalf of all the readers and contributors here at Hogs Haven, I’d like to recognize beowolf for demonstrating his deep understanding of Commanders personnel; he joins a list of three prior winners that have proven themselves to be deeply insightful with respect to the team’s roster.

Congratulations to beowolf on his win, and to the rest of the entrants on well-thought out and high-scoring entries. The overall accuracy of the entries is a testament to a fan base who is extremely knowledgeable about the relative unknowns at the bottom of the Commanders roster in 2024. Truly arcane knowledge!
Let it be known in every corner of the land, from this day forth, that beowolf is the Seer of Seers, Sage of Sages, Prognosticator of Prognosticators, and Roster Prophet Extraordinaire of Hogs Haven when it comes to predicting the initial 53 man roster!
