They might be 2-0, but are the Commanders being largely disrespected?
Not only have they won their first two games, but one win was a road game at Denver, where they actually were down 21-3 in the second quarter.
So, why are the Commanders such a big underdog (+6.5) to the Bills, Sunday?
Is it because Bills quarterback Josh Allen had such a big game against the Raiders last week? Is it because Allen has been voted the AFC Offensive Player of the Week? Is it because Allen completed 83.8 percent of his passes in Week 2? It was an NFL best thus far in the 2023 season.
The vast majority of NFL players know the point spread going into their games. It is a natural phenomenon. Players want to know what others think will occur in their game.
The Bills, seeing they are -6.5 point favorites, naturally realize most expect the Bills to win this game by at least a touchdown. Secondly, the Bills’ schedule immediately following Sunday’s game against the Commanders has them facing the Dolphins and then the Jaguars.
No question, the Bills are aware their divisional undefeated rivals, the Dolphins, will be next. Yet, they are -6.5-point favorites this week at FedEx Field.
Perhaps the Bills are more than a touchdown favorite due to Washington’s first two opponents? Might it be because the Cardinals and Broncos are a combined 0-4 through two weeks? In addition, might it be because the Cardinals blew a 20-point lead last week in losing to the Giants, and the Broncos lost an 18-point lead and the game against Washington?
Might the Commanders be being disrespected because leader and quarterback Sam Howell has only played in three NFL games?
Former Buffalo (and Washington) wide receiver Andre Reed certainly feels the Bills will be bullies against Washington this Sunday.

Whatever the reasons, the Commanders are big underdogs on Sunday.
Wouldn’t it be a lot of fun to see the Commanders knock off the Bills Sunday?
