Bill Belichick isn’t know for spilling the beans, but he revealed a secret about the Miami Dolphins’ coaching staff during Wednesday’s press conference.
When speaking to reporters on Wednesday afternoon, Belichick said that George Godsey will be calling plays for the Dolphins’ offense this weekend.
Dolphins head coach Brian Flores hasn’t definitively said who will be the team’s primary play caller this season. Well, that secret is officially out in the open because of Belichick.
Miami has George Godsey and Eric Studesville on its staff as co-offensive coordinators. Judging by Belichick’s recent comments, Godsey will get the first chance to show what he can do as the Dolphins’ play caller.
Bill Belichick announced today what Flores has declined to say: that George Godsey is Dolphins new play caller. (You read that right.) That Godsey is now calling plays had been obvious to anyone with eyes

Of course, the Dolphins can throw a curveball at the Patriots and allow Studesville to run the show on Sunday. However, it’s hard to believe that Belichick received false information from Flores. They have a great connection due to their time together in Foxborough.
It’ll be interesting to see how Miami’s offense looks under Godsey. The Dolphins weren’t very explosive under Chan Gailey last season, but that could be due to their lack of weapons. Now that Will Fuller V and Jaylen Waddle are on the roster, their vertical passing game should be drastically better.
Kickoff for the Dolphins-Patriots game is this Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET from Gillette Stadium.
