You would think that with everything Bobby Wagner did for the Seattle Seahawks in 10 years he’d get a proper farewell and send off. But behind the scenes, that apparently wasn’t the case.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, Wagner revealed that the Seahawks never spoke to him about releasing him before it happened. He said that he found that the craziest part of his departure from the team.
“Crazy part about all this. I played there for 10 years & I didn’t even hear it from them that I wasn’t coming back,” Wagner wrote.
If true, it’s a pretty weak move on the part of the Seahawks – whether he was entitled to it or not. Fans on Twitter are quickly empathizing with Wagner for getting a raw deal from the team he gave 10 years to:
Damn.

In his 10 years with the team, Bobby Wagner made eight Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections. He was a Defensive Player of the Year finalist in 2017 and an MVP finalist in 2014.
Most notably, Wagner was one of the leaders of the Legion of Boom when they were the best defense in the league on an annual basis. He led the NFL in tackles twice and has never had fewer than 100 tackles in a season.
Wagner will find no shortage of teams looking to bring him on board as free agency approaches.
Did the Seahawks do Bobby Wagner dirty by not talking to him first?
