Breaking: “Multiple Teams” Interested in NFL Blockbuster Trade

July 2, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

As several rosters prepare for NFL Training Camp this month, multiple teams are reaching out for linebacker TJ Watt for a possible trade this offseason. According to a report, there are several NFL teams that are offering trade packages to get Watt. Originally selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the former Wisconsin product is in a contract standoff with the Steelers, and even though the team doesn’t want to send him to a new team, the negotiations are still at a standstill. The defensive end could request a trade in the coming days, especially with training camp rolling around the cornerback if the Steelers continue to lag in the talks.

After trading away safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, it’s unfortunate for a Steelers fan that they could wind up sending any superstar in a possible trade this offseason. Watt is entering the final year of his contract, so he has the leverage to get the best contract, as other defensive end Trey Hendrickson is still waiting for a deal as well. It could get better within time, but this could be the real killer in contract talks if they continue to stall, since the Steelers have to strike a new deal if they want Watt back. The defensive end did express frustration with the negotiations back in April, so this is something to watch, but these two teams could make the best offer to change the minds of Pittsburgh.

Breaking: “Multiple Teams” Interested in NFL Blockbuster TJ Watt Trade – Commanders, Chargers Most Logical Destinations?

New Washington Championship Culture

After experiencing decades of mediocrity, the Washington Commanders are finally building a roster led by quarterback Jayden Daniels as a team that wants to win. The team should fork over a deal to get Watt to improve their defensive trenches while Daniels is still on his rookie contract. Even though the Commanders aren’t looking ot add another more pass-rushing addition to improve the trenches, the team shouldn’t be reluctant to it either way. After losing Dante Fowler Jr. this offseason, this was arguably their best defensive end on the roster as he led the team in sacks for the 2024 campaign.

The Commanders can’t just win and rely on the offensive side of the ball if they want a well-rounded roster that could pick up the slack. Between signing Deatrich Wise Jr. and re-signing Bobby Wagner for another year, the Commanders might as well get a veteran like Watt, who knows how to get after the quarterback. They need a hog, and Watt could be a perfect replica of turning the ball over in crucial moments.

Strengthening the Harbaugh Trenches

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers head coach, Jim Harbaugh, wants to win football games with an old-fashioned defense. However, they haven’t added anyone explosive since parting ways with veteran Joey Bosa after spending all of his career in Los Angeles. The Chargers are bringing back Khalil Mack for at least one more year and drafting Kyle Kennard, but they need someone proven to help push this team further in the thick of the postseason. Tuli Tuipulotu hasn’t been the most impressive edge help, and they’re already lacking depth at the position.

Even though the Steelers would never trade to the Chargers, they could at the right price, and it’s manageable for Los Angeles, who have an enormous cap relief.
