The Houston Texans recently pulled off one of the biggest trades in recent memory, sending star quarterback Deshaun Watson to the Cleveland Browns in a blockbuster deal. But they may not be done trading with one-another.
According to Browns insider Brad Stainbrook of The Orange and Brown Report, the Browns and Texans have had talks regarding wide receiver Brandin Cooks. Per the report, the extent of the talks is unknown but the Browns have called the Texans about him.
Cooks had a career year with the Texans this past year. He had a career-high 90 receptions for 1,037 yards and six touchdowns, leading Houston in all categories.
Cooks has played for four different NFL teams in his eight years in the NFL. But despite his frequent movement, he’s still been very productive on the field. He’s missed only 10 games and has six seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards.

The Cleveland Browns have already augmented their receiving corps this season, adding Pro Bowler Amari Cooper to their ranks in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys.
Whether the potential trade for Brandin Cooks was done before or since the Cooper trade remains to be seen. But if it happens, the Browns would suddenly have one of the best receiving groups in the league.
As for the Houston Texans, they’re in the middle of a full rebuild and can use as many draft picks as possible. Moving Cooks wouldn’t exactly ruin what they have planned.
Will a Browns-Texans trade for Brandin Cooks come to fruition?
