Bucs GM Jason Licht fielded a number of questions at Tampa Bay’s pre-draft press conference Tuesday. One of which, was about the “chatter” surrounding Ben Volin’s report that Tom Brady to the Miami Dolphins was going to happen until the Brian Flores lawsuit muddied the aqua waters.
Licht was asked what he made of the report, and the Bucs exec doesn’t seem to think much of it.
“I make of it as chatter, just like you said,” Licht said in response. “We’re focused on putting our team together here with the draft and we’re all excited. We’re all in lockstep here — Tom, Todd [Bowles], myself, Byron [Leftwich], the entire coaching staff on this season.”

Licht was later asked if the Bucs offered TB12 any ownership stake in the franchise, as was rumored to be the case with the Dolphins; which the GM also shot down.
“No, we haven’t had those discussions,” Licht said. “The only discussions we’ve had with Tom is when he came back. We’re excited about this year and excited to get going.”
Jason Licht says he’s had no discussions about Tom Brady taking an ownership role with the Bucs.

What lies ahead beyond 2022 is still a question for Brady and the Bucs.
Tom Brady knows he still has football left in him, even if it’s not much. Depending on how the Flores suit shakes out, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Miami could still be on the table.
And the door still hasn’t fully closed on the 49ers.
