The Washington Capitals will face the Carolina Hurricanes, this Tuesday. It was reported earlier in the day that Alex Ovechkin will not participate in the game as he has to deal with family matters. The Hurricanes are first in the Metro division, while the Capitals are fourth.
The Hurricanes are averaging 3.31 goals per game, while only giving up an average of 2.67 goals per game. The Caps on the other hand are averaging 3.05 goals per game and giving up 2.82 goals per game. The team stats are just about equal in every category.
In the last five games, the Canes are 4-1-0 and the Caps are 3-2-0. In the first matchup between the two teams, the Canes won 3-2 in a shootout. They meet again on Saturday for the third and final matchup of the regular season.
The Canes goalies are slightly better than the Caps as Raanta has a record of 13-2-3 and Anderson has a record of 11-4-0. Both of those records are very impressive.
