Now that the 2022 NFL Draft is in the books, the Arizona Cardinals are making Kyler Murray their No. 1 priority.
Cardinals GM Steve Keim told Adam Schein on SiriusXM Radio that they’re looking at extending Murray at some point between July and September.
“Anytime you’ve seen quarterbacks after their third year do their contract extensions, it’s generally been anywhere from about to July to September,” he said, via Pro Football Talk. “It’s one of those things, when we get through free agency and the draft process, I mean it’s a lot of work we put into that. So now we can take a step back, take a breath, refocus, and try to get something done. Like I said, Kyler’s our long-term future, and there’s no doubt we wanna have him here in Arizona.”
There’s been plenty of drama brewing between Murray and the Cardinals this offseason.
However, it appears that drama could soon die down. The Cardinals clearly want Murray around for the long haul.
“Following the conclusion of the NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals have shifted their attention to extending Kyler Murray, per GM Steve Keim on @AdamSchein.”
