With all the weaponry in the AFC West right now, it’s forcing the Los Angeles Chargers to be really aggressive this offseason. After trading for pass rusher Khalil Mack, the Bolts are reportedly targeting one of the top free agents on the backend for their D.
Per the NFL Network’s Mike Giardi, “Expect the LA Chargers to be heavily involved with free agent corner JC Jackson.”

Jackson if fresh off of his first Pro Bowl season after another high-volume interception year. Over the past two seasons, the undrafted free agent out of Maryland has tallied 17 interceptions.
For some reason, Bill Belichick and the Patriots view his salary demands as too high to keep him on-board. So New England is set to let him walk and explore the free agent market.
The Chargers still have plenty of talent in their defensive secondary between Derwin James and Chris Harris Jr. But with Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson and Derek Carr in the division, you can never have enough corners.
Really don’t understand why the Patriots won’t pay great CB JC Jackson. They don’t have enough elite players as it is. Cultures are important but ELITE PLAYERS win titles.

LA finished the year 9-8 last season, just missing out playoffs after losing to the Raiders in that Sunday night “play-in” game.
It appears the Chargers are going to try to surround Justin Herbert with as many good players as possible before the bill comes due for what will probably be a massive second contract.
