Heading into the 2023 season, the wide receiver position was considered a potential strength for the Washington Commanders. You had Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson and Curtis Samuel, which was considered one of the more underrated trios in the NFL.
The 2023 season didn’t go as planned. McLaurin needed the final game to go over 1,000 yards for the fourth consecutive season. Dotson was predicted to be one of the NFL’s breakout players last season. He finished with 49 receptions in 17 games. Finally, Samuel had another solid but not spectacular season. Samuel is now in Buffalo.
Washington’s offense led the NFL in passing attempts last season, but it was not efficient. The Commanders believe things will change with new offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury and quarterback Jayden Daniels.
We continue our training camp previews with a look at wide receiver.
