The Washington Commanders completed their first preseason game last weekend, falling 20-17 to the New York Jets. However, while there was plenty to work on for head coach Dan Quinn and his staff, there were plenty of bright spots.
Chief among those bright spots was rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. The No. 2 overall pick played just one series but completed two of three passes for 45 yards and rushed for a touchdown. Washington couldn’t have scripted a better beginning for Daniels.
Daniels wasn’t the only bright spot. Second-round pick (TE) Ben Sinnott shined, as did undrafted rookies (RB) Michael Wiley and (S) Tyler Owens. Did Wiley and Owens do enough to earn a roster spot?
Before training camp, we released our first 53-man roster projection for the Commanders. We will continue to release a new projection each week. Let’s look at our latest 53-man roster projection after the first preseason game.
