When Washington Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz threw interceptions on back-to-back possessions in the second half, Washington fans had a bad feeling. The energy at FedEx Field went from raucous to worrisome, especially when the Jacksonville Jaguars turned the two interceptions into 10 points and the lead.
How would Wentz respond?
He immediately marched the Commanders down the field and threw a strike to Terry McLaurin for a 49-yard touchdown. On Washington’s next possession, Wentz led a 90-yard drive, capping it off with his fourth touchdown of the day, this time to wide receiver Jahan Dotson.
Before Wentz’s final two drives, after his second interception, analytics guru Warren Sharp fired off a tweet criticizing Wentz — and apparently taking a victory lap.

However, Sharp was noticeably quiet after Wentz’s final two drives, where he led the Commanders to a win.
On Sunday evening, Commanders team president, Jason Wright, saw Sharp’s tweet and had the perfect response.

Good to see Wright owning Sharp here. It’s not the first time that Wright has had enough of the over-the-top criticism of Wentz as a player and leader.
We know Wentz will throw more interceptions. We also know he will also have plenty more big plays. So, every time Wentz makes a mistake you can expect someone in the media to take pride in those mistakes.
On Sunday, it was Wentz who had the last laugh.
