Commanders Reacts Survey: What can Washington accomplish next?

Poll questions!!

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Washington Commanders fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in regular email surveys.

This week we have three questions in the Reacts survey.

Question 1

Our first question this week is the one we ask every week — Do you feel confident in the direction of the franchise? We will track the results of this question throughout the season. Following last week’s MNF win over the Cincinnati Bengals, confidence stood at 98%. Will it rise this week after the 40-burger that the Commanders hung on the Cardinals in the desert?

Question 2

Washington’s first four games may have been against a slate of opponents with less-than-stellar win-loss records, but September also required the Commanders to negotiate the most travel-heavy month of its 2024 season — a schedule that is the lightest on travel in the NFL this year. The Commanders had to play three road games (out of eight this season) in September.

The travel schedule will now get much less demanding. October turns things around completely, with 3 home games and only one road game — and that “away” game is merely a short commute up 495 to Baltimore in Week 6.

This week sees Washington taking on the 1-3 Cleveland Browns, whose only win came against the NFL’s only remaining winless team, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Week 6 is the “road trip” to Baltimore to take on the Ravens, who stumbled out of the gate with two straight losses, but who appear to have righted the ship with successive dominant wins against the Cowboys in Week 3 and a 35-10 beatdown of the Buffalo Bills this past Sunday night.

In Week 7, Washington hosts the Carolina Panthers, whom many observers perceive to have taken over the mantle of “NFL’s most dysfunctional franchise” under the reportedly meddlesome ownership of David Tepper. The Panthers are 1-3, but their win was an impressive domination of the LV Raiders on the road in Week 3.

The Commanders close out the month of October with a game against the Chicago Bears at Northwest Stadium in Landover. The game will feature the first and second overall picks from the NFL draft — Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels — leading their respective offenses. The Bears have sputtered a bit, but currently own a 2-2 record after playing three AFC South opponents and the LA Rams, collecting wins in Weeks 1 and 4 against the Titans and Rams, while suffering back-to-back losses to the Texans and Colts.

In today’s second question, we ask you to predict Washington’s record for the month of October.

Question 3

The final question also asks you to peer into your crystal ball, but to look even deeper. We want you to prognosticate, not just what will happen over the next month, but what the ultimate result of the ‘24 regular season will be for our Commanders — playoffs or not?

Comments & Results

Of course, we invite you to answer the survey questions below, but also feel free to expand on your answers and provide nuance in the comments section. I rely on those comments when discussing the results of the survey when they are posted in a separate article the next few days.
