Get ready for game day!
Week 2 of the 2024/25 NFL season opened with the Buffalo Bills dominating the Miami Dolphins. Washington is 0-1 after getting blown out by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They return home to face their NFC East division rivals, the New York Giants. Washington opened as 2.5 point favorites, but that line has dropped to 1.5 towards the end of the week. The Over/Under also jumped from 41.5 to 43.5.
The Giants look like they’re in for another rough year, and the Daniel Jones question keeps coming up after going 22 of 42 for 186 yards with 0 TDs and 2 INTs in a 28-6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings last week. Jones has a history of winning against Washington(5-1-1), and looking way better than he actually is. Dan Quinn is looking to put an end to that narrative, and new DC Joe Whitt Jr. is looking for a much better performance from his defense in Week 2.
Jayden Daniels won Offensive Rookie of the Week after his first game, but he acknowledged that he has a lot to work on at the NFL level. He was Washington’s leading rusher in Week 1, a stat that new OC Kliff Kingsbury likely doesn’t want to see again as he works on opening up the passing game. The running backs and TE Zach Ertz were the team’s leading receivers, another stat that needs to be tweaked throughout the season.
