Commanders vs. Lions: 3 best player prop bets for NFC divisional round

January 18, 2025 by Redskins Wire

The Washington Commanders are gearing up for the biggest game in recent franchise history. The team will take on the Detroit Lions in the divisional round of the playoffs on Saturday night.

According to BetMGM, the Lions are heavy favorites. The line is Lions -9.5, and the point total is 55.5.

Both offenses are in the top five in scoring, so this one could be a shootout. The Commanders have scored 20+ points in seven straight games, while the Lions have done so in every game but one this season.

Let’s go over to BetMGM and pick out the best player props available for this exciting playoff matchup.

Jayden Daniels OVER 234.5 passing yards

The Lions are 20th in opponent yards per game and 29th in passing yards allowed. This secondary can be exploited, and Jayden Daniels can take advantage.

While the Lions struggle against the pass, the defense is much more stout against the run. Brian Robinson Jr. has been in a huge slump, so the Commanders will likely be forced to pass the ball.

NFL Playoff picks: Unlock exclusive data-driven predictions

Daniels has surpassed this total just five times in 2024, but the rookie is well-positioned to do so again against Detroit.

Jahmyr Gibbs OVER 86.5 rushing yards

Jahmyr Gibbs has been electric for the Lions in 2024. The running back has accumulated 1,412 rushing yards this season and has exceeded the 100-yard mark five times.

The Lions are expected to welcome back David Montgomery, but it’s unlikely the veteran will receive a heavy workload coming back from injury. The Washington defense is 27th in rushing yards allowed, so Gibbs has the potential for a big day.

Terry McLaurin OVER 5.5 receptions

I already predicted that Jayden Daniels would have a huge game, so naturally, at least one wide receiver will, too.

McLaurin is Daniels’ safety blanket and a reliable veteran. If the Commanders get down early, expect Daniels to try to force-feed McLaurin. The WR caught seven passes in the Wild Card round, and I expect another big game.
