Injury updates
The Washington Commanders enter their Week 7 matchup against the Carolina Panthers with some big changes to the lineup. Jonathan Allen and Javontae Jean-Baptiste were placed on IR. Dorance Armstrong was also injured during Sunday’s loss to the Ravens, and missed the first practice of the week. Washington signed DT Sheldon Day from the practice squad and signed free agent DE Jalyn Holmes. Dan Quinn said they hope Jean-Baptiste’s ankle injury is short-term, and he’ll have to miss a minimum of four games while on IR.
Daron Payne was limited today with a knee injury that hasn’t been reported before. Frankie Luvu was also limited with a toe injury. Both could be precautionary for the first practice after a physical game against Derrick Henry, but we’ll have to monitor them over the next two days.
Washington’s offense wasn’t the same without RB Brian Robinson Jr last week. He didn’t practice all week before being ruled out with knee injury, but he was back on the field today. Quinn and QB Jayden Daniels were both excited to see him rejoin the team.
