Cooper Kupp Addresses Contract Future: NFL World Reacts

April 19, 2022 by The Spun

Rams stars Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp celebrate a Super Bowl LVI win.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp isn’t focused on the money aspect of his contract situation.

Kupp is set for a massive payday after the 2022 season and he could be one of, if not the highest-paid receiver in the league. He’s not thinking about that, or trying to compare himself to any other receiver.

“I don’t think that’s the approach that I take,” Kupp said. “There’s a place you want to be. There’s a place that I think is fair. I’m not trying to beat anybody. I’m not trying to compare myself to anyone else.”

Cooper Kupp, asked if he wants to be the highest-paid WR in the @NFL:

“I don’t think that’s the approach that I take.”

Kupp is fresh off the best season of his career after finishing with 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns while catching 145 total passes. Kupp also won Super Bowl MVP after scoring two of the Rams’ touchdowns against the Bengals.

The NFL world that answer from Kupp.

Could you imagine if the majority of pro athletes had this mindset? https://t.co/viJ23Vleui

Well done, Coop. That is about as slick and shifty as the routes he runs on Sundays (and Mon and Thurs and sat) #nfl #rams https://t.co/tZMpOwm0CW

There would be a lot of fans who would want some of their players to take the same line of thinking. https://t.co/Gwlhcyq4gV

Be like Cooper Kupp https://t.co/hJUdqVM7lE

He’s saying all the right things. Absolute “We Not Me” but definitely deserves the new deal that’s coming 🤘🏻 https://t.co/viJsgn3G4j

The two sides are currently engaged in contract negotiations, but no deal has been reached yet.
