On Saturday morning, fans of the Dallas Cowboys woke up to a report that the team could be in the midst of a significant trade.
No, this one doesn’t have anything to do with star wide receiver Amari Cooper. According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys gave offensive tackle La’el Collins permission to seek a trade.
“Dallas has given permission to starting RT La’el Collins to seek a trade, according to his new agent Peter Schaffer,” Schefter said. “Dallas needs cap room and Collins was scheduled to make $15.25 million this season. Likely to be released if no trade.”
It didn’t take long for fans to start reacting to the news. Fans of opposing teams are clamoring for their respective team to make the deal.
“La’El Collins agent also represents Joe Mixon. Don’t fumble the bag, bring him on in. So many different connections in the Bengals room for him,” one Cincinnati Bengals fan said.

“There are definitely people that don’t want any part of Collins and I get that. But the FA market is bare at the RT position, it’s a serious need for Miami, and Collins is better than any player Miami fielded on the OL in 2021, particularly in pass pro. Has to be a consideration,” a Miami Dolphins fan said.

Collins will receive plenty of trade interest. However, if the Cowboys can’t get a deal done, they’ll reportedly release him.
Where will he play in 2022?
