Jerry Jones got his wish. Amari Cooper has played his last down in a Dallas Cowboys uniform. Cooper is headed to Cleveland where he’s set to become the Browns’ new No. 1 target.
The Cowboys have traded Cooper to Cleveland. The Browns gave up a 2022 fifth- and sixth-round pick to get him. You’re not alone if you think that’s a low cost. But it’s worth pointing out the Browns are absorbing his entire salary. The Cowboys, meanwhile, clear $16 million from their 2022 salary cap.
Cowboys are finalizing a trade to send WR Amari Cooper and a sixth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for a 2022 fifth-round pick and a sixth-round pick, per league sources.

This isn’t the first time the Browns have gone after and acquired a standout wide receiver. Odell Beckham Jr. comes to mind here. However, the team hasn’t been able to take full advantage of such players. Perhaps Amari Cooper will be the first.
Fans aren’t exactly excited about Cooper’s future in Cleveland considering he’ll be catching passes from Baker Mayfield.
“Cleveland finally gets that #1 WR who will consistently get open for Baker to consistently miss every single game,” a fan tweeted.

This also confirms Jerry Jones was ready to move on from Amari Cooper.
“Wow! The Cowboys traded Amari Cooper away for two “possibles” in a Spades game. Considering Day 3 picks are considered developmental prospects, the Cowboys simply wanted to move on from the veteran WR. No other way to say it.. #NFL,” Bucky Brooks tweeted.
