Dan Quinn speaks to the media before practice
Dan Quinn spoke to the media before Washington’s second practice of the week, but their first real practice after yesterday’s walkthrough. He said today would be a mock game before they really ramp up tomorrow, especially for some players coming back from injuries. Brian Robinson Jr. and Cornelius Lucas have both missed the last two games, and they’ll both practice today. Lucas hasn’t practiced since injuring his ankle almost two weeks ago, so this is progress for the veteran tackle. Robinson has been limited in practice, but held out of the last two games with his hamstring injury.
Quinn also said that three injured players won’t practice again today. The Commanders traded for former Saints CB Marshon Lattimore at the trade deadline, but he is still dealing with a hamstring injury that held him out of his last game with New Orleans. It continues to look like he won’t be ready to play until the Cowboys game in 12 days. Quinn also talk about Lattimore being a bright veteran who’s played a lot of football. He said Marshon has been picking up their terminology and he’d be ready to play in their defense whenever his hamstring is ready.
Kicker Austin Seibert missed last week’s game with a right hip injury, and he didn’t practice again today. Washington signed Zane Gonzalez to the practice squad, and he was perfect on the day. He can be elevated two more times before he would need to be signed to the 53-man roster. Special teams LB Nick Bellore injured his knee on Sunday, and is also out today. Quinn was asked about Jamison Crowder being activated from IR after Olamide Zaccheaus muffed two punts, but there weren’t any immediate plans to open his 21-day practice window.

Thursday night games:
I asked Dan Quinn what, if any, impact the late bye week brings: “there’s challenges that go with that…If a position group, may have more vulnerability to injuries than other than you do have to adjust your practices having a Thursday game” full answer below. pic.twitter.com/yYgpOxl32P
