Dan Quinn speaks to the media before practice
The Washington Commanders are heading to the practice fields for the eighth day of training camp. The team started one on ones yesterday, and will be doing them again today, but Quinn said he told his coaching staff to mix it up with the matchups more today. Rookie LT Brandon Coleman stood out on the offensive line, and he said its hard to believe that Sam Cosmi has only been playing guard for a few years. He also name-checked Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, and Johnny Newton on the defensive line. Rookie slot CB Mike Sainristil continues to get praise from Quinn, saying he’s “consistently strong” at the position.
Darrick Forrest missed practice yesterday, and is dealing with an injury. Quinn didn’t give specifics, but he said it will be short-term, and he should be back on the practice field soon. Andrew Wylie has also been dealing with unspecified “tightness” and will be limited again today. Quinn was asked if Wylie is only being looked at for the tackle position. He said there are other guys working inside, and Wylie will continue to practice at tackle.
