Dan Quinn speaks to the media before practice
Washington Commander head coach Dan Quinn spoke to the media for the third day in a row. The players are set to practice for the second day of training camp at team headquarters in Ashburn, VA. Quinn said that Jayden Daniels has been outstanding, and the team is sticking with their plan to develop him. Marcus Mariota is a great presence in the QB room, that Quinn said had the makings of something special and unique.
He said everyone has something to prove after being asked about a comment from Jonathan Allen earlier in the week: “A lot of guys with a lot to prove it. I love it.” Emmanuel Forbes definitely has something to prove after a disappointing rookie season that saw him get benched. Quinn said that Forbes has gained 15-18 pounds since last year. Forbes needs to hit the markers they have set for his development, and that was a big first one. Quinn also mentioned Forbes’ working on his tackling. Reports from the first two days of camp have said that Forbes is playing more aggressively this year.

Dan Quinn said they remain committed to not rushing Jayden Daniels in practice i.e. Mariota working with the first team. Quinn said Daniels has been “oustanding” so far. The coach also reminded that this is only Day 3 so don’t look too far ahead. Full installs not done.
