Dan Quinn speaks to the media before practice
The Washington Commanders are back to their normal 9am practice time after starting at 1:45pm yesterday. The team announced during his presser that WR Martavis Bryant had been signed and K Ramiz Ahmed had been released. This paused the kicker competition for now, but Quinn said is still an open competition. Bryant brings size to the WR room, and Quinn said he looks like a linebacker playing receiver. He practiced against him last year when Bryant was on the Dallas Cowboys practice squad.
The team is on another away week as they prepare to travel to Miami to have a joint practice with the Dolphins before they play their second preseason game against them on Saturday night. Today’s practice will be in pads, after a shorter practice yesterday. The coaching staff isn’t focused on scheming vs the Dolphins, they will be evaluating the team as roster cutdown day approaches.

Quinn says he looks like a linebacker playing WR – was on the Dallas prax squad last year so he’s familiar with him game … adds some much needed size to WR room, but this isn’t a guy they’re signing that’s an auto roster spot https://t.co/BUYytHMf4F

On Martavis Bryant. Quinn says he looks like a linebacker at receiver and that adding size to the WR room was of interest.
How quickly Bryant shows he can play in a game, something he hasn’t done since 2018, is uncertain, but Quinn saw him in practice with Dallas last year.

Martavis Bryant:
Terry McLaurin was asked today about the addition of Martavis Bryant.
Terry said, “he can run too. You have a big, fast wideout like that who can make plays above the rim, who can win in the vertical pass game. That’s a big plus for you as a team.” pic.twitter.com/viuKsJoEYT

Nick Allegretti is a talker! The Commanders left guard is a great interview.
I asked him about the identity/DNA of this offensive line group.
Nick told me, “tough, physical smart…we’re not going to be outworked.” pic.twitter.com/lCMgj5lVja
