Dan Quinn speaks to the media before practice
Dan Quinn spoke to reporter’s after Friday’s practice. All for of the Washington Commanders quarterbacks were inside the bubble at the start of practice while the rest of the team was on the field. When they emerged from the bubble, Jayden Daniels wasn’t with them, instead getting some strength and core work in. Quinn was asked if this was a move to keep reporters from seeing and filming Daniels at practice, to maintain a competitive advantage, but he shot that idea down.
The team pushed Jayden Daniels today, after he wasn’t on the field the last two days. Quinn said the team will evaluate him over the next 48 hours, making him a game-time decision. He said it’s “crawl, walk, run” and Daniels is on track after a good day at practice today. They will be seeing how he responds over the next two days, and leave the Chicago Bears preparing for both Daniels, and backup QB Marcus Mariota. Quinn said the team has confidence in Mariota if he has to start this week, and he showed why the team has faith in him after a great performance against an awful Carolina Panthers team.

Jayden Daniels also spoke to reporters after practice and said he feels good and wants to play this week, but it’s not up to him. It will be up to Adam Peters, Dan Quinn, and the trainers if he is ready to return to the field. He said the injury is hard to explain, but it’s to the rib area. The pain from the initial injury has lessened, and he has 48 hours to meet the next markers in his path to playing. He said he wouldn’t put himself in any situation he didn’t feel comfortable in, and the team would let him. He was asked about the potential matchup between No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams, and the No. 2 overall pick, and he said he treats every game the same, and the hype is left to the reporters.
