Dan Quinn speaks to the media before practice
Jayden Daniels suffered a rib injury at the end of a 46-yard run on Washington’s opening drive against the Panthers last week. Dan Quinn said he won’t be practicing today, but he will get treatment and participate in meetings. Daniels is close to getting back on the practice field, and they will be able to evaluate if he is able to play this week when they host the Chicago Bears. If he can’t play, Marcus Mariota will get the start with Jeff Driskel backing him up.
The Commanders released Jamin Davis yesterday, and activated rookie Jordan Magee from injured reserve today. Quinn said Davis was a great teammate, and they’re rooting for him wherever he goes next.

Washington’s system:
I really believe throughout my journey I’ve learned so much about offensive football because of the amount of systems I’ve been in. So regardless if I felt I was more suited in one or the other, I’m just very fortunate to be able to experience all those things and have that kind of knowledge, because it’s really helped me become a better player.
I really enjoy this system, it’s really a lot of fun to play in. Is it best suited for me to play in, I don’t know, you know, but I do enjoy just kind of going out there and playing the way that we play. I gotta give a lot of credit to Kliff, and those guys because they really make us feel very comfortable and confident at the position. It’s been enjoyable for me.
