Dan Quinn Presser: Marshon Lattimore is hitting all the markers and should have a regular week of practice

December 10, 2024 by Hogs Haven

Dan Quinn speaks to the media before practice

Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders were back in Ashburn today for team workouts as they return from their bye week. Marshon Lattimore was working with the team and had hit all of his markers in his recovery from a hamstring injury. Quinn said he expects him to have a regular week of practice, and they are encouraged by his progress. Washington visits his former team, the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, and they will likely be playing a backup after Derek Care’s injury. Perfect time for Lattimore’s first game with Washington.

Dan Quinn confirmed that the team plans to stick with Zane Gonzalez at kicker, despite two missed field goals vs the Titans. He was signed to the 53-man roster due to Austin Seibert going to IR with a groin injury.

Quinn said that RT Andrew Wylie is progressing from his shoulder injury, and should have a regular week of practice. Cornelius Lucas started in his place in Washington’s last game.

Dan Quinn said he’s focused on the next game, and worrying about winning each week when asked if he watched other teams during the bye. He’s keeping his team focused on the Saints this week, and letting people outside the building worry about playoff scenarios.

Dan Quinn on Marshon Lattimore: “We’re very encouraged about all the work that he and the medical team put in. … We’ve put him through a lot of tests, and he’s hit all the marks up until now.”

Dan Quinn time.

On Marshon Lattimore. “Lot of top-speed running” and hitting other rehab markers last week, and joined the team workouts today. The hope is a full week of practice and go from there.

Quinn said last week went well for CB Marshon Lattimore. “A lot of top speed running. …hitting all the markers…very encouraged about the work he and the medical team have put in.”
Quinn said they want to see how he handles different speeds, change of directions, in practice.

Home strectch of games:

Dan Quinn said “there was a bounce and energy with guys to get going. In December/January football the line of scrimmage is what leads the way — both sides. That’s no different this year. To have these guys … feeling better is a big deal.”

Improving turnover margin:

Dan Quinn said one area of improvement he seeks next is turnover margin.

Andrew Wylie:

Everything is trending for Andrew Wylie to get a full week of work, Quinn said

One week at a time:

Dan Quinn (correctly) only focused on New Orleans: “we don’t really try to look too far down the line and we’ll leave that to you and everybody outside just to make sure that for us, the only fight that matters is the onewe’re in. That’s what we do have control over.” pic.twitter.com/MA0Lu012Ht

— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) December 10, 2024

Quinn said “there’s zero chance” of talking what might happen 4 weeks down the road. All about the upcoming game.

— John Keim (@john_keim) December 9, 2024

Sheldon Day:

#Commanders Head Coach Dan Quinn was ready for all of the questions coming back from the bye week. DT Sheldon Day was one of the game day captains vs the Titans and has been a consistent contributor on defense. I asked Coach Quinn about him yesterday. Check out his response. pic.twitter.com/7HKLkFWLn9

Quinn said he considers backup DT Sheldon Day a “glue guy.” About his consistency; how he connects with others and guides them.
