Reports have emerged this weekend that Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf might still be available in a trade despite Seattle’s statements to the contrary. But could the Dallas Cowboys be the team that gets him?
In a recent article for Cowboys Country on FanNation, Mike Fisher calls for America’s Team to make the “bold” trade and bring Metcalf into the fold. He believes that Dallas would be better served to go with “the sure thing” in Metcalf rather than try to draft another wide receiver in April.
“Rather than use a first-round pick on a receiver to team with CeeDee Lamb with the hope that the rookie will become a star catching passes from Dak Prescott… Why not use that first-round pick to trade more a sure thing in Metcalf?” Fisher writes.
Cowboys fans aren’t sold on the idea though. Some believe that the Cowboys are too stingy to bring a player like Metcalf (and his salary demands) to the team. Others just don’t want him for skill reasons:

The Dallas Cowboys gave up wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns for what was effectively peanuts. While they seem content to move forward with Michael Gallup and CeeDee LAmb as their top two receivers, the rest of the fanbase isn’t as confident.
Dallas has the No. 24 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft later this month and the expectation is that they’ll either focus on defense or go with the best players available.
But there’s still time in the next few weeks for the Cowboys to surprise us.
