Eagles’ star A.J. Brown weighs in on rivalry with Commanders’ Marshon Lattimore

Marshon Lattimore debuted in the burgundy and gold in Week 15 against his former team, the New Orleans Saints. The following week, the Commanders’ new cornerback was tested, facing the Philadelphia Eagles and wide receiver A.J. Brown.

It was a tough day for Lattimore. He won some battles with Brown but also lost some. That game will be best remembered for three pass interference penalties called on Lattimore. While the calls were questionable, it was a rough game for the veteran cornerback, and he’d depart after further injuring his hamstring.

Lattimore would sit the season’s final two games as the Commanders hoped his hamstring would heal in time for the playoffs.

Lattimore returned for the playoffs but struggled in the Wild-Card win over the Buccaneers. He was solid in the NFC Divisional Round win over the Lions before a rematch with Brown loomed in the NFC championship.

The Commanders struggled against the Eagles. Turnovers plagued the offense while Brown had his way with Lattimore. Philadelphia went on to win the game and would win Super Bowl LIX.

This week, Brown joined the “Kickin’ It With Dee” podcast, discussing his rivalry with Lattimore.

“He’s a really good player, but I really don’t know, his persona comes off like ‘I’m finna bully you,’ and that’s how he comes off,” Brown said. “I bully the bully; I’m not going for none of that out here.”

Brown seemed perplexed about why Lattimore always wanted to mix it up with him.

“Bro, why are you acting like this? He’s talking, doing weird stuff after the play, trying to shove you after the play, he’s trying to get in your head.”

The Commanders won the game in Week 16, but the Eagles won the most critical battle in the NFC championship game. Lattimore has two years remaining on his contract, so his tangles with Brown next season should continue to be fun.
