The Washington Football Team is entering perhaps the most critical offseason in franchise history. That’s not hyperbole. Not only will Washington unveil a new team name on Feb. 2, but it must find a franchise quarterback before Week 1 of the 2022 season.
No pressure, right?
But before Washington begins its quest to find a quarterback, it must address all of its own free agents. The most prominent name is All-Pro guard Brandon Scherff. Many expect Scherff to depart, but he isn’t Washington’s only free agent. In some good news, the team did extend left tackle Charles Leno last week.
Washington will continue to work on keeping some of its own free agents ahead of March, including running back J.D. McKissic, wide receiver DeAndre Carter and defensive back Bobby McCain.
According to Over the Cap, Washington has 32 players listed as either unrestricted, restricted, or exclusive rights free agents.
Here’s a look at Washington’s list of projected free agents.
