We’ve already seen three marquee players traded this week in Khalil Mack, Carson Wentz and Russell Wilson. Could another star player be on the move before the start of the new league year? Apparently, the answer is yes.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, teams around the league continue to express interest in Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Fletcher Cox.
Rapoport also mentioned that teams tried to acquire Cox at the trade deadline this past season.
“With all these big names being dealt, who could be the next? Last year, Eagles Pro Bowl DT Fletcher Cox was nearly dealt at the trade deadline, and teams around the league have continued to call on him. Considering the D-line movement around the league, it’s something to watch,” Rapoport tweeted on Friday morning.

Cox, a six-time Pro Bowler, finished the 2021 season with 35 combined tackles, 12 quarterback hits, 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
As of now, Cox’s cap hit for the 2022 season is $14.9 million. If the Eagles don’t believe he’s a part of their future, moving on from the Mississippi State product wouldn’t be a bad idea.
With the new league year set to begin next week, it’ll be interesting to see if Cox gets traded before this weekend comes to a close.
