An ex-Major League Baseball pitcher is facing some major criticism for what he tweeted about a player who needed some time off for general soreness.
Kyle Farnsworth, who played in the majors from 1999-2014, is getting crushed for what he tweeted on Monday.
“So I just saw that a MLB player didn’t play today because of general soreness. Are you kidding me. It’s September. Everyone is sore. If you can’t play through soreness, you shouldn’t be playing the sport. SMH!” he tweeted.

The player in question is believed to be Trey Mancini. The Baltimore Orioles star is playing this season after beating Stage 3 colon cancer. Understandably, he might need a game off here and there, as he continues to build his way back up.
Farnsworth is getting crushed on social media for appearing to call Mancini out.
The career 4.26 pitcher with *ZERO* complete games in a sixteen year career has something to say about the guy that beat stage three colon cancer taking a rest game during a trash stretch of the schedule? Got it https://t.co/7O75oBDgZZ

Taking a cheap shot at Trey Mancini?
• Hit on the foot the day before.
• Has calf soreness.
• Missed all of 2020 beating cancer.Next time you question someone’s toughness, do your research clown. He’s tougher than you are – by far. https://t.co/ZkXfKd5UV3

Hey Kyle, that player’s name is Trey Mancini and he’s in his first season back after chemotherapy treatments after Stage 3 colon cancer, so maybe, oh I dunno, shut the hell up? https://t.co/qzAtNznqWm

Trey Mancini did not play today due to “general soreness.”
If this is about Mancini, you must live under a rock if you think he’s soft. https://t.co/7sEZe2fUNp

This tweet was in regards to Trey Mancini. I just can’t fathom sending this. You’re referencing the guy that beat Stage 3 cancer and sat out all last year due to cancer treatment? That’s really who you’re talking about sitting out a game? Wow.. https://t.co/PJdmNTATZD

Mancini missed Monday’s Labor Day game due to “general soreness,” according to Orioles manager Brandon Hyde.
The 29-year-old Orioles slugger is hitting .262 with 21 home runs and 66 RBI on the season. He’s played in 128 games so far this season.
Baltimore is 43-93 on the season.
