Former first-round pick for Washington back in 2019 and Bullis School quarterback passed away this morning in South Florida per his agent Cedric Saunders. Haskins was in South Florida training with his Steelers teammates this offseason.
Haskins one of the best seasons in Ohio State history in 2018 where he set school records for passing yards in a season (5,100) and passing touchdowns (51).

His success gave him a lot of attention heading into the 2019 draft where he ultimately was drafted by his favorite team, the Washington Redskins, with the 15th overall pick.
Haskins was never set up for success in Washington due to friction between the coaching staff and front office. He played in 16 games, started 13, and threw for 2,804 with 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions between 2019-2020.
After Washington moved on from Haskins he ended up signing with the Steelers. He didn’t see any action in 2021 behind Rothlisberger and Roudolph.
Most people will remember Haskins for his downfall in Washington but he was set up to fail. In the right system with the right coaching, Haskins could have been a solid starting quarterback in the NFL. Today’s news is devastating and my heart goes out to his family.
