A former Washington Redskin has been indicted for the death of his girlfriend.

Kevin Ware, who wore the No. 48 jersey, played tight end for Washington in the 2003 season and appeared in 11 games, starting two. Ware’s girlfriend, Taylor Pomaski, 29, was last seen in April 2021 at a party in Spring, Texas. Her remains were discovered in December.
Ware, who then played for the San Francisco 49ers in the 2004 season has been officially charged with murder and tampering with a corpse.
The former University of Washington Huskie, had been arrested in April when he was apprehended driving 115 mph. Deputies then found cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamines in Ware’s possession, as well as a loaded AK-47 and a loaded 9mm pistol.
Pomaski’s disappearance was quickly viewed by Harris County Sheriff’s Office as involving “suspicious circumstances.” Though her remains were discovered in December, her body was not identified as Pomaski until April.
Harris County prosecutor Lacy Johnson said the court process in this case is just beginning.

Ware played at 6-foot-3 and 259 pounds. He was targeted 7 times, making 3 receptions for 17 yards gained, with a long of 7 yards. That lone season with Washington was the second and final season for Steve Spurrier as Washington coach.
