It doesn’t sound like Saquon Barkley will be traded this offseason.
The New York Giants star running back has been a rumored trade candidate for several months now. Barkley has dealt with injuries in recent seasons after starring on the field early on in his NFL career.
Some believe the Giants will look to move on from Barkley ahead of the 2022 season. However, the team claims they aren’t shopping him.
Some notables from John Mara:
— The Giants aren’t actively shopping RB Saquon Barkley
— On the OL: “Our offensive line should be better … god willing”

That doesn’t necessarily mean Barkley will not be traded. However, it’s difficult to imagine an NFL team giving up a ton for the running back right now.
So, the safe bet is for him to return to the Giants in 2022.
John Mara claims the #Giants are not actively shopping Saquon Barkley but if Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll want to make a move, they can. Mara says that’s not something the Giants are actively seeking to do but doesn’t close the door.

We’ll see what happens, though. Some fans believe today’s comments on Barkley could be his kiss of death in New York.

The Giants are coming off another disappointing season in 2021, though the team will look to take a step forward in the NFC East in 2022.
