Grading all 32 NFL teams, including the Commanders

January 7, 2025 by Redskins Wire

The 2024 NFL season could forever be remembered as the year everything changed for the Washington Commanders. It began in July 2023, when Daniel Snyder officially sold the franchise to Josh Harris’s group.

Harris officially began the new era in January when he fired former head coach Ron Rivera and hired Adam Peters, the NFL’s most sought-after general manager candidate. Peters then hired Dan Quinn as head coach and began to rebuild the organization in his image.

In March, the Commanders signed around 20 outside free agents. The most significant move came in April’s NFL draft when Washington chose former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels with the No. 2 overall pick.

After going 4-13 last season, the Commanders finished the 2024 regular season on Sunday with a 12-5 record. Daniels had the greatest season for a rookie quarterback ever, made the Pro Bowl, and set numerous franchise and NFL records.

Next week, Washington will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football in an NFC wild-card game. Yes, the Commanders are must-see TV.

Now that the regular season is over, CBS Sports has graded all 32 NFL teams. According to CBS, 10 teams, including the Commanders, received an “A.”

They didn’t win the division, but the Eagles were squatting on a big lead. More importantly, the Commanders found THE GUY in Jaylen Daniels, who looks like a truly legitimate franchise quarterback with the ability to play at his best in the most important moments. Washington appeared ready to sort of collapse late, but let’s credit Dan Quinn for righting the ship and ensuring they made the playoffs. Ten wins in his first year for a franchise with a long (recent) history of being extremely meh has this fanbase reenergized, and the building blocks in place for long-term success. Great, great season no matter what happens next.

That’s right. Regardless of what happens next week, the future is bright. The most important takeaway from the 2024: The Commanders found THE GUY.
