The Washington Football Team was scheduled to face the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday in an all-important NFC East showdown. Due to a COVID-19 outbreak in Washington’s locker room, the NFL wisely postponed the game.
Now, Washington will play the Eagles on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
While some in Philadelphia think this plays to Washington’s advantage, it doesn’t. Check out Washington’s recent schedule. Also, after playing Tuesday, Washington will go back on the road for a Sunday at division-leading Dallas. The Eagles, meanwhile, are coming off a late bye.
Washington currently has 23 players on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Montez Sweat was the first player to go on the list last week. Since then, Washington has added multiple players to the list each day, culminating in Friday’s announcement that quarterback Taylor Heinicke tested positive for COVID-19 and was also placed on the list.
The WFT added backup quarterback Kyle Allen to the list earlier in the week.
Now, we look at every player currently on the COVID list, listed in order of who went on the list first. The list also includes players on injured reserve and the practice squad.
