How well has Commanders’ QB Jayden Daniels played in playoffs?

January 21, 2025 by Redskins Wire

It’s a team sport, and no other sport more than football relies upon your teammates.

Though Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels receives most of the praise, the defense’s five turnovers in Saturday’s 45-31 victory over the top-seeded Lions should not be overlooked.

It should also not be overlooked that Dyami Brown is playing his best ball of his four seasons, that the Commanders pounded the ball, running 42 times for 182 yards, and that the offensive line opened holes for running backs and kept Daniels protected, not surrendering a sack.

Yet, having said all of that, “How well is Jayden Daniels playing in the playoffs?”

Well, four quarterbacks are remaining in these playoffs. In the AFC, there are Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs) and Josh Allen (Bills). In the NFC are Jalen Hurts (Eagles) and Daniels (Commanders).

Of those four quarterbacks still playing for the Super Bowl ring this season, do you realize that Daniels has the highest passer rating (116.2)?

How about the touchdown to interception ratio? Daniels has the best thus far at four touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Remember that Daniels is the only quarterback remaining who has played a road playoff game this playoffs. That’s right; Mahomes, Allen, and Hurts have been able to play only at home, while Daniels has not only won on the road but has also had to play only on the road and twice during these playoffs.

Oh, I’m not done yet. When it comes to passing yards per game in these playoffs, guess who is first with 283.5 yards per game? That’s right, it is Jayden Daniels.

How about yards per pass attempt? If you guessed Daniels is atop the four remaining quarterbacks, you guessed correctly. Daniels has a solid 8.59 yards per passing attempt.

Daniels has completed 46 of his 66 passes in his two road playoff games. Well, what do you know? That is good enough for second place in completion percentage, 69.7.

I guess Jayden Daniels is only human, after all.
