Things appeared to be trending in a positive direction for Washington running back J.D. McKissic to play in Week 15 vs. Eagles. McKissic, who suffered a concussion late in a Week 12 win over the Seahawks, missed two games but practiced in a limited capacity Friday.
McKissic was initially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Eagles, but the NFL later moved the game to Tuesday.
So, Washington had some extra practice time this weekend and was back on the field Saturday morning. Unfortunately for Washington, McKissic did not participate. The good news is he’s cleared concussion protocol. The bad news is McKissic is also dealing with a neck injury.

McKissic’s neck injury likely came on the same play as when he suffered the concussion. McKissic stayed down on the field for several minutes after the play before he was carted off the field.
It’s difficult to imagine McKissic playing Tuesday if he’s unable to practice Sunday. Washington’s offense needs McKissic, especially with tight end Logan Thomas lost for the season.
