The Ohio State-Michigan rivalry runs deep well after players leave their respective programs.
On Thursday evening/Friday morning, former Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett and former Michigan defensive end Chris Wormley went after each other on Twitter.
During a matchup between the No. 2 Buckeyes and No. 3 Wolverines in 2016, Barrett was awarded a first down by the nose of the ball on a crucial 4th-and-1 play in double-overtime. To this day, fans/players still argue whether or not the Ohio State quarterback was short of the line to gain that ultimately set the Buckeyes up for victory.
This week’s Barrett/Wormley beef was sparked by this very argument.
“I’m glad my guy wasn’t the referee,” Barrett joked when told Wormley still thinks he was short. “We got the first down. We can move on. He’s not moving on, but he should.”

“I was hoping to have a lighthearted convo with him when I got to Pittsburgh in 2020. Sadly he was cut shortly after I was traded there. #jtwasshort Also, don’t call me “My Guy”. I’m not your guy,” Wormley responded on Twitter.
“Dang @Chris_Wormley43 you sound bitter. We can talk about all the other years you were there and we beat y’all too. I’m open to it. Let’s keep it light tho. #GoBucks,” Barrett fired back.

Wormley went 0-4 against Ohio State in his four-year career with Michigan. That being said, the former Wolverine has enjoyed a far better NFL career than Barrett.
This past season, Wormley logged career highs in tackles (51), sacks (7.0) and QB hits (10). He also notched one forced fumble and three passes defended in 14 starts for the Steelers.
Barrett, who made rounds as a practice squad QB in the NFL, is now a quarterback for the Canadian Football League Edmonton Elks.
