In a cost-cutting move, the Cleveland Browns released wide receiver Jarvis Landry earlier this offseason. In doing so, they saved nearly $15 million in cap space.
Cleveland cut Landry because the two sides could not come to terms on a restructured contract, and there were no teams out there willing to deal for the 29-year-old receiver. However, now that Landry remains on the market, the Browns are reportedly interested in potentially bringing him back.
According to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot, Landry and the Browns have “mutual interest” in possibly reconnecting. The team’s recent acquisition of quarterback Deshaun Watson is said to have rekindled some of the interest on Landry’s part.
“That’s his home and he loves it there,’’ Landry’s new agent Roosevelt Barnes told Cabot. “There’s mutual interest in him being back back there, but Jarvis also has interest from some other teams as well.”
Judging by the reactions of Browns fans on social media, it looks like a reunion with Landry would be welcomed.
