QB1 signed!
The Washington Commanders announced that they have officially signed QB Jayden Daniels to his rookie contract. He was the 2nd-overall pick in this year’s draft, and the first pick of the Josh Harris/Adam Peters/Dan Quinn era. Daniels won the Heisman Trophy during his final season at LSU, making a big jump in skill, and maturity that made him shoot up draft boards.
Jayden Daniels has been taking First-Team reps this offseason, and is easily projected to be Washington’s Week 1 starter over veteran backup Marcus Mariota. Dan Quinn said there will be competition at every position, including QB, but Daniels would need a lot of things to go wrong to not be QB1 this season.
Daniels signed a 4-year deal worth$37.75 million with a $24.3 million signing bonus He was one of three draft picks that weren’t under contract,. TE Ben Sinnott and LT Brandon Coleman also signed their contracts today. Washington now has all of their rookies under contract for when they return to Ashburn, VA for training camp in late July.
