The plaudits for Commanders rookie QB Jayden Daniels are coming in so fast that it’s hard to keep up with them. Let me recap some highlights from prior to the Cardinals game:
- Week 1 – NFL Rookie of the Week
- Week 3 – NFC Offensive Player of the Week, NFL Rookie of the Week
The pace picked up this week as Daniels has been recognized four times (so far) since the victory over Arizona in the desert:
After being named the FedEx Air Player of the Week yesterday, he was announced as the winner of to his third NFL Rookie of the Week award today, this one for his performance in the team’s Week 4 victory over the Cardinals

After winning the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week award three times in four weeks, it was no surprise when he was also named Offensive Rookie of the Month for September.

Per the Commanders official website:
This past month, Daniels has been 87-of-106 for 897 yards and has thrown three touchdown passes and only one interception. Daniels has also added 218 yards on the ground and four rushing touchdowns. Daniels’ completion percentage of 82.1 is the highest completion percentage through four games in NFL history.
Daniels is currently Top 10 in the NFL in every relevant passing category. He is No. 3 in the NFL and No. 2 in the NFC in passer rating (107.4). Daniels also leads all NFL quarterbacks in rushing touchdowns with four. He trails only Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson in rushing yards by a quarterback in September.
Daniels became the first player in NFL history to record consecutive games with an 85% or higher completion percentage. He has also orchestrated more scoring drives (23) than incomplete passes thrown (19) through four games.
Daniels becomes the first Washington rookie and first Washington rookie quarterback to win NFL Rookie of the Month since QB Robert Griffin III did so in September and November of 2012.
Daniels was also named the NVP (Nickelodeon Valuable Player) of Week 4:
