Before last week, oddsmakers had LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels as a significant favorite to be drafted No. 2 overall by the Washington Commanders.
However, when Daniels’ agent liked a pair of tweets criticizing Washington’s process of inviting four quarterbacks to town on a group top-30 visit, the odds began to shift back toward North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye a bit.
Now that we’ve arrived at draft week, the odds are firmly back on Daniels’ side.
In the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook, Daniels’ odds have increased.
- Jayden Daniels: -340
- Drake Maye: +330
- J.J. McCarthy: +1200
Washington general manager Adam Peters has done an excellent job of keeping everyone guessing over the past couple of months. While those close to the situation say Peters has given no clue which quarterback the Commanders will choose, the signs continue to point toward Daniels.
