With a Final Four showdown between Duke and North Carolina just a few hours away, one former Blue Devil is making headlines.
Earlier this week, former Duke star JJ Redick made fun of Tar Heels fans everywhere. During a conversation with ESPN’s Marcus Spears, Redick suggested that North Carolina fans hate Duke more than Duke fans hate North Carolina.
“And my comment to that is I’ve always felt that Carolina fans hate Duke fans way more than Duke fans hate Carolina fans,” Redick said, via 247Sports.
He then offered a reason as to why. He suggested North Carolina fans have an inferiority complex going on.
“And the reason is that people that go to Carolina — and there’s a lot of people in North Carolina that are UNC fans that didn’t go to Carolina — but people in North Carolina and UNC fans all over the country, the have an inferiority complex. They have an inferiority complex, and that’s just part of the rivalry.”

Redick later claimed that he was joking, but the damage was already done. He angered Tar Heels fans all over the country.
Well, North Carolina will get the chance to avenge the comments from Redick with a win over Duke tonight.
Duke and North Carolina tip off at 8:49 p.m. ET on TBS.
