Jordan Spieth got some unexpected advice on golf from his wife on Saturday night heading into Sunday.
Spieth was leading the RBC Heritage tournament heading into Sunday’s final round and ended up not giving it up. He won the event with a 13-under score and took down Parick Cantlay in a playoff.
Before that final round got underway, Spieth confirmed to the media that his wife Annie told him to basically take a breath after missing a putt.
“You need to take five seconds if you miss a putt before you hit your tap-in,” Spieth said. “So I thought about that today.”
Jordan Spieth said that his wife Annie never comments on his golf — until she gave him some advice last night:
“You need to take five seconds, if you miss a putt, before you hit your tap-in.”
“So I thought about that today,” he said.

Maybe his wife was the biggest reason he was able to win that playoff!
If he’s able to stick to that advice for the rest of the season, the sky could be the limit, especially with three major championships still to come.
Spieth’s next event will be the AT&T Byron Nelson event on May. 12.
