The Kansas Jayhawks basketball team finished their 2021-22 season at the top of the field with an NCAA Tournament National Championship victory. Now, the school will look to transfer some of that success to their struggling football program.
Basketball guard Chris Teahan has suited up as a quarterback option for Saturday’s Kansas football spring game.
The super senior is rocking a red No. 12 jersey — the same jersey number he wore for five years with the Kansas basketball program.
Teahan is expected to throw a pass in today’s game, per Jayhawks insider Matt Tait.

In addition to his high school basketball career, Teahan also suited up as a wide receiver for Rockhurst High School in Kansas City. He ultimately joined Bill Self’s Kansas program as a preferred walk-on in the 2017 class.
In his fifth and final season with Kansas, Teahan averaged 0.7 points through just 2.0 minutes per game. The lone start of his career came during this year’s senior game.
Coming off a two-win season in 2021, the Kansas football program will be led by actual quarterback Jalon Daniels. This is the first year the Jayhawks are entering fall practices without a quarterback battle since 2016.
Though his eligibility as an NCAA athlete has come to an end, Teahan will get a chance to close out his Jayhawks career with this unique experience.
