On Friday afternoon, a report emerged suggesting ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit landed a new job in the media industry.
According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Herbstreit inked a deal to become Amazon’s color analyst for its Thursday Night Football coverage. Amazon is hoping to sign Al Michaels to a three-year deal in a potential partnership with Herbstreit.
Fans can’t believe the movement in the media landscape over the past few weeks. They also had to give props to Marchand, who has been all over this story – and all media stories in general – from the beginning.
“This last month or so has been really an unprecedented time in sports media history,” Koo said. “Just insane. With that in mind, need to tip my hat to @AndrewMarchand who has really owned most of the steady flow of reporting. Has routinely been on top of every new development.”

Other fans are excited to see what the duo of Herbstreit and Michaels can do together.
“Herby is a star. Awesome hire by Amazon. Al Michaels and @KirkHerbstreit team would be incredible,” one person said.

For those worried about missing Herbsteit’s college football coverage, don’t fret. Marchand reported that Herbie will be pulling double duty this season, calling both college football for ESPN and NFL for Amazon.
He’ll be a busy man this fall.
