On Wednesday, DailyDiscipline.com’s Brian Kight tabbed “GameDay’s” Kirk Herbstreit to weigh in on one simple question: is The Grove at Ole Miss a mecca of college football?
And according to the ESPN/Amazon analyst, it most certainly is.
“The scene at The Grove is a Mecca,” Herbstreit tweeted in reply. “Tailgating taken to another level.”

Every Saturday in the fall, countless Ole Miss fans crowd into the 10-acre grassy plot located in the center of campus to get ready to watch their Rebels play.
The Grove is widely regarded as one of the most unique experiences in college football. Not just in the SEC, but nationwide. It’s even been described as “the Holy Grail of tailgating sites” by The Sporting News. And SI has ranked it as the No. 1 tailgating school in the country.

Herbstreit and the “College GameDay” crew have only made one visit to The Grove in 2014, where they saw one of the most raucous crowds in the land firsthand.
Some schools might have something to say about Herbstreit’s crowning of Ole Miss. But, it should be noted that he said “a mecca” and the mecca.
