Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant didn’t exactly have his best performance against the Boston Celtics in Game 1 today. A player who did have one of his best games, Kyrie Irving, was asked for his thoughts on that.
KD had 23 points but was just 9-24 with four rebounds, three assists and six brutal turnovers. His missed three with 15 seconds remaining allowed Boston to win the game on a layup.
Kyrie, on the other hand, had a game-best 39 points and was 6-10 from three. After the game, he made it clear that he isn’t worried about KD heading into Game 2 at the Barclays Center this coming week.
“Nothing to overthink with Kevin Durant, we know who he is. We know he’s gonna go back, watch film and prepare,” Kyrie told the media.

It was an uncharacteristically sloppy performance from Kevin Durant, who is usually so sharp from inside the paint. He had only four games with a worse field goal percentage and seven where he was worse from three in the regular season.
The turnovers were probably the real culprit in this loss though. He had only three games with more turnovers in the regular season – the Celtics were the only team that turned that into a loss in the regular season though.
Everything that could go wrong went wrong for KD in today’s game. We’ll see if the Celtics can force him into those same mistakes in Game 2.
Will Kevin Durant bounce back?
